PUTRAJAYA, March 29 — Umno’s Disciplinary Committee has received a report on Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir who are continuing with their criticisms against the Umno president and have become pro-opposition, said Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

Tengku Adnan, who is also Federal Territories Minister, said as a party with a structure, action according to the rules of the party constitution was needed even though basically their actions could result in disciplinary action taken like suspension of their membership or outright sacking.

“We are not like other political parties which sack members as they like, Umno has rules and regulations that have to be followed as stipulated in the party constitution,” he said when met by reporters after an excellence awards ceremony for Putrajaya schools here today.

“Wait for the next meeting of Umno’s Supreme Council because I myself am waiting for what the Disciplinary Committee will inform us,” he said.

Tengku Adnan, who is also the MP for Putrajaya, added that he personally felt that suspended Umno deputy president Muhyiddin and former Kedah menteri besar Mukhriz should quit Umno after no longer being agreeable with the party. — Bernama
