ALOR STAR, March 28 — A Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) student has developed an application named My Performance Appraisal Application Manager (MyPA Application Manager) which can be an alternative to the use of paper in recording work assessment activities.

Low Kah Choon, 31, of the UUM Ghazali Shafie Graduate School of Government, said the application could help assessors to record, analyse and display the work performance score assessment of the persons being assessed.

“There are three main characteristics in MyPA Application Manager, namely, I-Evaluation, I-Performance and I-Report. Firstly, I-Evaluation is a platform for assessors to give their assessment scores for every aspect of performance assessed.

“Secondly, I-Performance provides a display of the work performance scores of the persons being assessed in the form of charts following the performance aspects being assessed.

“And thirdly, I-Report prepares the assessment report each month and year which are formulated in the form of schedules by calculating the monthly work performance score average of the persons being assessed,” said a statement issued by UUM today.

Low said the product complements the Human Resource Management Information Systems in public organisations and any Human Resource Information System in private organisations, especially for assessors.

“This application is currently still being improved upon before it can be commercialised although there are already interested parties and we are also trying to get the copyright for the innovation,” he said.

The application, which was developed since two years ago, had also won the gold medal in the Innovation Project Competition and Innovation Poster Presentations at the National Level Innovation and Invention Competition Through Exhibition (ICompEx’16) recently. — Bernama
