KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 ― Former High Court judge Datuk VT Singham, 68, died at the Pantai Hospital in Bangsar at 4.30pm yesterday.

According to his niece, G. Subashini, 38, her uncle had been receiving treatment at the hospital since last Sunday due to deteriorating health.

“His remains had been claimed and will be taken to his eldest brother's home in Ipoh tonight for the burial on Sunday morning,” she said when contacted by Bernama here, tonight.

Subashini, who declined to disclose the cause of death and illness suffered by the deceased, said she last met her uncle three months ago.

She said Singham, from Batu Gajah, Perak, was not married.      

He was a very hard-working and committed person, she added. ― Bernama
