KUALA LUMPUR, March 15 ― Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has confirmed his attendance for Pakatan Harapan’s “Save Malaysia” gathering this March 28.

The event, to be held at 8pm at the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) field in Pandan Indah, is the first in a series of gatherings by the coalition in its nationwide roadshow dubbed the “Save Malaysia Consensus”.

In a statement, PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli, who is part of the roadshow’s organizing secretariat, said Dr Mahathir’s aide Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan confirmed that the former prime minister has accepted the invitation to the event.

Rafizi added that the gathering will include performances and poetry recitals, apart from speeches by leaders.

“It is open to all Malaysians and I urge all those concerned about the future of their country to be a part of this reformation wave,” he said.

Earlier today, Parti Amanah Negara’s (Amanah) Mohamad Sabu announced the pact’s plan to organise the nationwide roadshow during a press conference at the Dewan Rakyat lobby.

According to the politician, the key objectives of the roadshow series is to push for “complete reformation in systems and institutions, the release of incarcerated Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the resignation of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak”.

Mohamad, who is also known as Mat Sabu, claimed the roadshow series is linked to the closed-door gathering of leaders on March 27 organised by Datuk Zaid Ibrahim.

“The Save Malaysia rally would give a chance to all Malaysians to join in as the event on March 27 by Datuk Zaid Ibrahim is a closed-door event that is only limited to around 1,000 invites,” he added.
