KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 ― DAP lawmaker Tony Pua proposed today the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) scrutinise the accounts books of SRC International Sdn Bhd after it is done with 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

SRC International is a former subsidiary of the sovereign investment firm that is now parked under the Ministry of Finance.

“The PAC can investigate SRC International. Once we have finished investigating 1MDB, I will propose to them to investigate SRC,” the Petaling Jaya Utara MP told a news conference at Parliament here.

Pua, who is a member of the PAC, said he would raise his idea with the other members of the bipartisan parliamentary panel, but acknowledged that the prerogative was with its chairman, Rompin MP Datuk Hasan Arifin.

Opposition lawmakers have continued to question the decision of Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohd Apandi Ali to close the cases on a movement of RM42 million from SRC International and the RM2.6 billion deposited in Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s accounts in 2013.
