KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 15 — Police have arrested five Nigerians believed to be involved in a robbery in a raid on an apartment in Taman Puchong Prima, Puchong yesterday.
Serdang police chief ACP Razimi Ahmad said the suspects, aged between 24 and 34, were believed to be among the eight Nigerians, who were armed with a sword, that robbed a restaurant in Bandar Puteri, Puchong, at 11.30pm on Saturday.
“The victim, also a Nigerian in his 30s, lost RM8,000 in cash, jewellery and a wrist watch worth RM8,000,” he said when contacted by Bernama here yesterday.
He said the raid was conducted following a tip-off.
“When police knocked on the front door, one of the suspects tried to escape through the balcony on the fourth floor.
“However he was later caught at the ground floor. The suspect broke his left ankle and was sent to Serdang Hospital for treatment,” he said.
Razimi said police were tracking down three other suspects and the case was being investigated under Section 395 and 397 of the Penal Code. — Bernama
