KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 13 — Former PAS vice-president Datuk Husam Musa will be referred to the disciplinary and code of conduct’s committee for condemning the party’s leadership, party deputy president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said today.
Following a monthly central working committee meeting today, Tuan Ibrahim said the Islamist party felt that there is enough merit and basis under its constitution to send Husam to the committee for further action.
“After looking at all complaints received against him from all aspects including ‘rules against bias’ and ‘conflict of interest’ the party has decided to send Husam to the committee for further action.
“In the meeting, it was also decided that proceedings by the committee will be headed by Dr Daeng Sanusi Mariok, “ he told a news conference at the party’s headquarters today, referring to the committee’s chief.
Husam has been a vocal critic of the party’s leadership, especially in Kelantan, claiming that the PAS-led state government has failed in implementing the Islamic penal code of hudud.
Aside from this issue, Husam had claimed that PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang had planned to work with Umno to form a unity government in Selangor during the 2014 mentri besar crisis in 2014, and alleged that Kelantan was allowing the clearing of forest reserve land.
The Salor assemblyman's latest criticism came yesterday during a talk when he questioned Kelantan deputy mentri besar Datuk Muhammad Amar Nik Abdullah’s financial ability to own several cars.
Husam also chided PAS spiritual adviser Datuk Dr Haron Din’s appointment into the federal Islamic Consultative Council yesterday as an “insult” since the latter will be working under Umno leaders.
