KUALA TERENGGANU, Feb 12 — The Terengganu state government has allocated RM22 million for the Youth Transformation Programme (TOM), said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman.
Ahmad Razif said the programme aimed at improving self-esteem among youths was an upgraded version of the Youth Outreach programme.
“Under the Youth Outreach programme which began in 2014, the state government spent RM19 million for the benefit of 93,726 youths in conjunction with the Hari Raya celebration.
“Last year, the amount increased to RM20.9 million for the benefit of 104,861 youths and it had further risen to RM22 million to benefit more people,” he told reporters after officiating the TOM programme at the Islamic Civilisation Park here today.
Also present were State Youth and Sports committee chairman, Datuk Rozi Mamat, Terengganu Umno Youth chief, Johari Abu Bakar and Puteri Umno chief, Rozita Ismail. — Bernama
