SHAH ALAM, Feb 3 — Selangor police detained seven suspects and seized 5.5kg drugs worth RM450,000 after raiding two separate locations in Batu Caves and Damansara early this week.
Selangor Narcotics chief ACP Amran Ramli said the first raid was carried out at a car park in Sunway Batu Caves at about 4pm on Monday.
“In the first raid, police detained for suspects aged between 27 and 40, and seized 3kg Syabu worth RM240,000. During the raid, the suspects were carrying out a transaction dealing with drugs.
“Police also seized three vehicles, a Perodua Myvi, Proton Wira and a Yamaha motorcycle used by the suspects,” he told reporters here today.
Amran said during the second raid at Mutiara Damansara at about 1.50am yesterday, three suspects aged between 20 and 30, were nabbed and 2.5kg Syabu was seized.
“Initial investigations revealed that the seven suspects were involved in the distribution of drugs in the klang valley since last year.
Amran said all seven suspects would be remanded until Feb 8, to facilitate investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries the mandatory death sentence if convicted. — Bernama
