TAIPING, Jan 31 — Seven males, including a 15 year-old boy, were arrested for involvement in cockfighting in Kampung Air Kuning, Changkat Jering, yesterday.

Taiping police chief, ACP Harrith Kam Abdullah said the suspects, aged between 15 and 58 years, were arrested in a raid by a CID team at 5.30pm.

“During the raid, some people tried to escape. However, we managed to arrest seven people who were engrossed in cockfighting in Kampung Air Kuning.

“Police seized a black cloth that was used as the court, eight metal parts, seven metal spurs and cash RM155 that were abandoned,” he said in a statement.

The suspects were remanded to aid investigation under Section 7 (2) of the Common Gaming Houses Act. — Bernama
