Budget 2016 revision: Putrajaya does away with visa for China tourists from March

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 28 — Chinese tourists will no longer need visas to enter Malaysia starting March this year, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced today as part of his Budget 2016 revision measures to spur spending.

He added this is for Chinese tourists who will be visiting the country for no more than 15 days.

“In order to boost domestic economy through tourism, we will enable easier entry for foreign tourists,” he said in a live broadcast from the Putrajaya International Convention Centre.

“As an additional step, I am pleased to announce that Chinese tourists would not need visa to enter Malaysia starting March 1 to December 31, 2016.”
