What Malaysian men really think about a Men’s Affairs Department (VIDEO)

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 7 ― Men's rights have been the talk of the town after a law professor proposed Putrajaya set up a special department dedicated to men’s affairs to protect them from gender discrimination and abuse.

This was a follow up to a report by Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) that listed psychological and mental abuses experienced by Muslim husbands among the top reasons behind some 23,800 divorce cases in 2014.

But we wondered what Malaysian men really thought about this issue. How much do they know about men’s rights? Did they think their rights were being curtailed or neglected? And do they think it really necessary for a government department to be specially formed to uphold their rights?

With these questions in mind, Malay Mail Online hit the streets in the Klang Valley to talk to Malaysian men. Check out their responses below:
