KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 2 — The DAP can go ahead and sue anyone if it denies being offered RM1.2 billion in exchange for an Israeli naval base in Port Dickson in the event of a win in the next general election, Dr Mohd Zuhdi Marzuki said today.
The PAS research director — who made the initial allegation — was responding to a statement made by Lim Kit Siang who said the party’s lawyers were taking legal action against ‘a senior political leader’ who made those claims.
“I have no comment. They have a right to sue anybody,” Mohd Zuhdi told Malay Mail Online when contacted today.
He however refused to state if he was sticking by his initial claims against the DAP when pressed further.
Mohd Zuhdi had reportedly accused the DAP of ties with Israel and that it was offered money to build a military base in the country if the opposition took over Putrajaya.
DAP has already denied Mohd Zuhdi’s claim, with party organising secretary Anthony Loke calling it “ridiculous”.
Mohd Zuhdi is best known for his purported role in urging PAS to leave Pakatan Rakyat, after a leaked screenshot of a conversation on WhatsApp last year revealed that he along with several other PAS leaders had actively discussed a possible union with Umno.
