Johor state government conveys condolences to royal family over prince’s demise

JOHOR BARU, Dec 6 ― The Johor state government last night expressed its condolences on the demise of Tunku Laksamana of Johor Tunku Abdul Jalil Sultan Ibrahim.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the state government and all the people expressed their condolences to all the royal family members of Johor on the passing of the fourth child of the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar and Permaisuri of Johor Raja Zarith Sofia Sultan Idris Shah.

Tunku Abdul Jalil, 25, died at 7.11 pm yesterday (Saturday) at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital here, due to cancer.

“The news of the demise saddens all the citizens of Johor and Malaysia. We have indeed lost a great prince of the nation who has all this while been an aspiration and ideal role model,” he said in a statement here tonight.

Mohamed Khaled said the late prince's sublime personality had taught the people of Johor the meaning of nobility and personal modesty.

Mohamed Khaled said the people of Johor will continue to pray for the late prince to be blessed and placed together with the believers and beloved.

Meanwhile, former deputy prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in his official Facebook page expressed condolences to the Sultan of Johor, Permaisuri of Johor, as well as other members of the royal family. ― Bernama
