Six tour bus passengers hurt in North-South Expressway accident

SUNGAI BULOH, Nov 22 — Six pasengers of a tour bus including four women sustained light injuries after the bus they were travelling skidded at Km421.5 of the North-South Expressway (northbound) here, last night.   

Selangor Fire and Rescue assistant director Mohd Sani Harul said in the 8.33pm incident, the bus which was carrying 43 passengers and a driver, was on its way from Malacca to Penang.

“Seven firemen from Kuala Kubu Baharu and Sungai Buloh rushed to the scene of the accident.

“All the injured victims were sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment,” he said when contacted by Bernama here yesterday.

One of the injured passengers, M. Rameswaran, 29, who works as a technician at Western Digital factory in Penang told Bernama here that they were on their way back from Melaka to Penang at 6.30pm.

He said it was learnt that the bus driver had to brake suddenly to avoid a car which suddenly moved to the centre which resulted in the bus skidding to the left side of the road. — Bernama
