Flash floods hit five areas in Shah Alam, Klang

SHAH ALAM, Nov 17 — Flash floods occurred in five areas in Shah Alam and Klang following heavy rain this evening, according to the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department.

Its assistant director, Mohd Sani Harul, said the department received reports on the floods between 3pm and 5pm.

The flood-hit areas in Shah Alam were Section 13, the Batu 3 commuter station and Taman Subang Intan where the floodwaters rose 0.6 metre, he said, adding that in Klang, the floods affected Jalan Padang Jawa and Jalan Batu 3.

“As of 5pm, the situation was under control and there was no necessity for any evacuation,” he said in a statement.

Yesterday, flash floods triggered by heavy rain hit nine areas in Shah Alam and Klang and rendered several roads impassable. — Bernama
