Malaysia Q3 current account surplus narrows to RM5.1b

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 13 — Malaysia’s current account surplus narrowed to RM5.1 billion in the third quarter from RM7.6 billion in the previous three months, central bank data showed today.

Foreign direct investment showed net inflows of RM4.7 billion in the third quarter, after an inflow of RM12.5 billion in the previous quarter.

The net portfolio investment outflow totalled RM24.4 billion, after an outflow of RM11.8 billion in the second quarter. — Reuters
