KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 13 — Cleaning up work following the mud flood in the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway is still ongoing.

Anih Berhad, in a statement today, said the route which was closed since yesterday is from Selesa Hilhomes at Km 42 till the Bentong Toll Plaza in Km 62.

“We expect the cleaning up work will take two days but it depends on the police to give us permission on when to open the route.

“Anih will also continue its regular monitoring activities on all slopes in the highway to ensure they are always in good condition,” said the statement.

According to the statement, Anih Berhad was still investigating and identifying the actual cause and would take preventive measures to ensure the incident did not recur.

The mud flood near Lentang-Bukit Tinggi at 6.30pm on Wednesday caused a section of the highway from both directions to be impassable with three private vehicles and a transporting lorry stranded at the scene.
