Deputy minister urges Indian community to keep supporting the government

MARAN, 10 Nov — The Indian community is hoped will continue to support the government which has always strived to ensure harmonious living among the people of all races in the country, said Deputy Human Resource Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Abd Muttalib.

He said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak always emphasised racial harmony.

Ismail, who is Maran Member of Parliament, also hoped the Indian community would continue to support MIC under the new leadership of Datuk Seri Dr S.  Subramaniam to ensure Barisan Nasional (BN) would continue to be in power after the coming general election.

“Solid support must be given to BN by all component parties,” he said at the Maran parliamentary Deepavali celebration held at the residence of Maran MIC chief G.Poongavanam in Kampung Sungai Jerik here today.

At the event, Ismail also presented contributions to 30 Indian families in Sungai Jerik. — Bernama
