DUNGUN, Nov 8 — The Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (CUEPACS) has called for more Road Transport Department (RTD) kiosk machines to be installed throughout the country.

Its chairman Datuk Azih Muda said the call was in view of complaints from the people who wanted to use such kiosk machines which were only found in a limited number areas.

He said it would facilitate the people from conducting their transactions with the department.

“Members of the public have been complaining on the lack of such machines so we hope the government will provide RTD the necessary allocation to expand the availability of such services,” he said after closing a “One RTD One Community Programme” at Sekolah Kebangsaan Padang Pulut here today.

Also present were Terengganu RTD director, Abdul Rahman Emang Anyie and Dungun Parliamentary Development officer, Datuk Din Adam.

At the ceremony, 248 senior citizen candidates comprising 111 men and 137 women obtained their B2 motorcycle licences.

According to Azih, so far 51 kiosk machines have been placed at RTD offices throughout the country and from the total, only 25 were found to be functioning while the others were not in working condition.

He said the kiosk machines needed to be extended to popular public places as well as in the interior areas to facilitate the people carry out their transactions without having to go to an RTD office. — Bernama
