TAPAH, Nov 5 — After searching for more than seven hours around the house where four people were murdered, police yesterday discovered several bone and tooth fragments.
Perak CID chief SAC Goh Kok Liang said among the items obtained from the crime scene were two pairs of shoes and a shirt believed to have been worn by the prime suspect and his son.
“We also recovered bone and tooth fragments, a rake, a wheelbarrow and what appeared to be a wooden club,” he said.
The rake is believed to be the murder weapon while the wheelbarrow is believed to have been used to transport the victims’ bones after their bodies were burned.
Investigations at the crime scene continued at 10am yesterday and ended at 5.30pm, with the two suspects being brought to the site to assist in evidence gathering.
A team of police officers, forensics investigators and a police dog unit arrived at the scene at about 10am with an excavator and grass cutters.
Both suspects, clad in orange lockup uniforms, arrived in a police van shortly after.
Twenty minutes later, the suspects led police to the back of the house and then towards the river.
Both suspects were seen apparently showing investigators where some of the remains were buried.
About 30 minutes later, they were led back to the van before excavations began, and forensics investigators were seen sifting through the loose soil.
At 2.20 pm, the suspects were driven away, before returning at 3.30pm, accompanied by more forensic investigators from Bukit Aman.
Police were seen taking away some clothing and a pair of rubber boots.
At 5.30pm, the police personnel and forensics investigators left with the suspects.
