KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 — Rescue teams are hoping that SK Taman Keramat Satu headmistress, Jasiah Rabu, 53, who is missing in a forest near Kuala Kubu Baru, will stumble upon their care packages.
The teams have begun dropping the packages, with food, candles, match boxes and maps, in Hutan Buluh Telur as the search entered its ninth day yesterday.
Selangor police chief Datuk Abdul Samah Mat said there were notes written by the search team members which could help guide her out of the forest.
“We wrote specific directions that will lead her to the search and rescue base. We hope she stumbles upon the packages.
“We have now split our team into several groups and they will cover a new 2km search radius by dropping the care packages along the way,” he said.
Abdul Samah said veteran commando officers and the orang asli had joined in the search operation.
“Officers will continue to comb through the area. The terrain in the jungle is not difficult to manoeuvre through but the weather is the main deterrent.”
Jasiah was last seen leaving her home in Taman Seri Seruling on October 23 by her neighbours, and it was understood that she headed towards the forest reserve by foot.
She has one son and was reported to be suffering from depression after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
