KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22 — Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has filed the notice for her motion for a vote of no-confidence against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

The PKR president said the opposition has decided to put in a motion against Najib for poor leadership, which she believed even some MPs from Barisan Nasional (BN) would support.

“I as the opposition leader have put in a motion of no confidence against PM. I believe that all 8 opposition MPs and some from BN have lost faith in the leadership of Najib.

“The motion is not against the government but against Najib alone,” she told reporters in a press conference at the Dewan Rakyat lobby today.

Dr Wan Azizah added that all MPs should make a “conscious decision” in supporting the motion as Najib's allegedly poor leadership has put the country into a crisis.

“This motion is against Pekan (Najib), not the government. This is to save the country. I plead that every MP not counting opposition or BN to be together in this motion,” she said referring to Najib's constituency.

She however refused to state how many MPs from BN have already agreed to vote for the motion and told reporters to wait for when it happens.

According to a party source, she submitted the notice earlier today and is expected to give a press conference at the Dewan Rakyat lobby on the matter soon.

PKR’s Hee Loy Sian last week submitted a similar vote, but Pakatan Harapan ally DAP insisted that the gravity of the motion meant it must come from the federal opposition leader.
