KOTA KINABALU, Oct 9 — Police are seeking the assistance of two men in connection with the ‘Abel Gang’ which is believed to be involved in six cases of robbing 24 hour convenience stores around here and Penampang last month.
Kota Kinabalu police chief, ACP M Chandra identified the duo as Amiruddin Abdullah @ Abel, 24, and Arpa Abd Wahid @ Rasta, 20.
Chandra said police had arrested six members of the gang earlier.
“Of the six suspects arrested, aged 19 to 29 years, two tested positive for drugs while two others had criminal records,” he told a press conference at the police headquarters, here, today.
Police also seized various items in the raids, including two vehicles, namely a Perodua Viva and a Kancil, a motorcycle, cash and weapons with an overall estimate of RM50,000.

In a separate case, Chandra asked a witness known as Lim Hock Siew, 43, from Alor Setar, Kedah, to come forward to assist investigations into a number betting scam in Sabah.
Chandra said one of the victims who wanted the betting services claimed to have lost RM48,163 in the scam.
