Police arrest man for killing parents with homemade bomb

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 — A 27-year-old man suspected of planting a homemade bomb on his adoptive parents’ motorbike, which exploded and killed them instantaneously, was nabbed by police in Kelantan.

According to The Star reports, the incident happened along Jalan Pulai-Gua Musang yesterday morning, with the man, a father of two, arrested at his home an hour later.

According to Kelantan police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mazlan Lazim, the victims, who were elderly rubber tappers, were on their way to the Malaysian Rubber Board when the incident happened. Aged 72, both died on the spot, with their body parts flung within a 40m radius.

“The homemade bomb was believed to have been planted near the battery of the motorcycle,” Mazlan was reported to have said in a WhatsApp message made available to the press.
