Haze: Malaysia ready to help Indonesia put out forest fires

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 — Malaysia today welcomed Indonesia’s decision to work with its neighbours to fight the haze-causing forest fires.

For its part, Malaysia is ready to help Indonesia to put out the fires, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said in his latest post on his Facebook account.

An Indonesian news portal reported today that President Joko Widodo had contacted the governments of Malaysia, Singapore, Russia and Japan for assistance to extinguish the fires, especially those on peat soil difficult to put out completely. — Bernama
