Sultan Abdul Halim Airport reopens after brief closure due to haze
Malay Mail

ALOR SETAR, Oct 4 — Thick haze causing low visibility resulted in the closure of the runway at the Sultan Abdul Halim Airport (LTSAH) from 7.20am to 10.40am this morning.

LTSAH manager Puteh Ramli said the runway closure had led to the postponement of several domestic flights.

“However, operations at Sultan Abdul Halim Airport are now back to normal.

We work together with the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and the Meteorological Department in monitoring the haze,” he told Bernama when contacted today.

Puteh advised passengers to frequently check with the airline companies for the latest updates.

A spokesman for Malindo Air at LTSAH when contacted, said four Alor Setar flights to Subang were delayed due to the closure of the runways at LTSAH this morning. — Bernama
