Air quality at 15 areas still unhealthy as at 10pm

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 1 — As of 10pm today, 15 areas throughout the country still had ‘unhealthy’ Air Pollution Index (API) readings, with Port Dickson, Negri Sembilan the highest, at 130.

According to the Department of Environment’s (DOE) portal, the other areas were Bukit Rambai (125); Port Klang (123); Bandaraya Melaka (121); Pasir Gudang (119); Shah Alam, Banting, dan Nilai (115).

Also having unhealthy air quality were Kota Tinggi (112), Seremban and  Putrajaya (111); Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur (110); Larkin Lama (108); Petaling Jaya (105) and Samarahan (101).

Twenty-seven areas had moderate API readings among them Kuala Selangor (92); Sri Manjung (89), Seberang Jaya 2 (81); Cheras, Kuala Lumpur (97); Kampung Air Putih, Taiping (79); Jerantut (80) and Perai (71).

API readings of between 0 and 50 is considered good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and 300 and above (dangerous).
