KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 7 — PKR’s Batu MP Chua Tian Chang was today summoned to the Dang Wangi district police headquarters to aid investigations into last month’s Bersih 4 rally.

The opposition leader confirmed that he was called by one Sergeant Dennis from Dang Wangi earlier today requesting that he come in to give his statement at 3pm.

“I haven’t confirmed if I’m going to bring along a lawyer... if it’s nothing I’ll just go in and give my statement,” he told Malay Mail Online when contacted.

“But if they want to do more than that or arrest me, than what to do lah,” he added.

Earlier today, Chua — or Tian Chua as he is popularly known — tweeted that he was summoned to Dang Wangi as part of the police’s probe on the 34-hour Bersih 4 rally last August 29 to 30.

“Called by the police to present myself at IPD Dang Wangi 3pm today for investigation of #Bersih4. @PDRMsia under pressure to witch-hunt?” he said on the micro-blogging site.

Chua is the latest in a list of people summoned to give their statements in connection to the rally, organised by electoral reform group Bersih 2.0.

Police have also taken statements from members of the Bersih 2.0 steering committee, and also confirmed that they will investigate former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for defaming Umno when he attended the rally.
