KUALA LUMPUR, July 30 — A municipal council staff has found a damaged suitcase at the exact site where debris believed to be from the missing Flight MH370 was found, reported the media at Réunion Island.

According to L’info à La Réunion, the suitcase was found at 11.30am local time and has been recovered by the police for investigation.

The picture of the suitcase circulated by Réunion media however did not seem like it has been submerged in water for close to 17 months since Flight MH370 went missing.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said yesterday Malaysia has sent a team to Réunion Island off the east coast of Africa to determine whether washed-up debris may be from the missing MH370 that is believed to have crashed in the Indian Ocean last year.

Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Abdul Aziz Kaprawi has since insisted that it is “almost certain” that the debris is a flaperon from a Boeing 777 aircraft, quoting Malaysia’s chief investigator.

Flight MH370 went missing with 239 people on board while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8 last year.
