Police detain main suspect in mobilephone shop owner's murder

KLANG, July 18 —  A man and a woman have been detained in connection with the murder on Thursday of a mobile phone shop owner.

Klang Selatan district police chief ACP Azman Abdul Razak said police nabbed the man aged 21, who is considered the main suspect at 7.50 pm, at Taman Wira Andalas, Klang.

"Prior to his arrest, police detained a woman at Taman Sentosa, Klang to assist in investigations," he said through WhatsApp here today. 

The victim, Kumaran Parathaman, 25, who owned a mobile phone shop at Jalan Tengku Kelana here, was found lifeless with stab wounds at the roadside of Jalan Emas in Taman Melawis at 10.40 pm.

Azman said the main suspect had admitted to the murder and also told police that he had disposed of a knife in Shah Alam.

"The suspect admitted trailing and confronting the victim who was riding a motorcycle, and stabbing him repeatedly during a scuffle," he said.— Bernama
