Woman in dismembered baby case remanded for three more days

ALOR STAR, July 12 — The remand order on a woman in the case of a dismembered body of a baby cut into eight parts has been extended three more days to facilitate police investigations.

In a statement here today, Kubang Pasu District Police Chief Supt Abdul Rahim Abdul said the order for the extended remand of the unmarried woman, aged 31, was issued by Magistrate Che Rohana Ismail.

The woman who is still being treated at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) had earlier been remanded for four days from last Thursday.

On July 7, police arrested a woman following the discovery of the body of a baby which had been dismembered into eight parts in a septic tank in Kampung Manggol, Mukim Malau, Jitra.

The post-mortem report from the hospital also found that the baby girl had died during childbirth. — Bernama
