KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 — All Malaysia Airlines flights inbound to and outbound from Denpasar have been cancelled, after Indonesia today closed five airports due to a volcanic eruption in the republic.

Separately, AirAsia announced that flights to and from the airports in Bali and Lombok will be disrupted by the closures.

“Malaysia Airlines’ flights into & out of Denpasar today will be cancelled following the closure of DPS airport due to Mt Raung volcanic ash,” the national carrier posted on Twitter today.

The national carrier did not say if other flights to the republic were affected by the closures.

Mount Raung in East Java has been erupting for nearly a week, forcing widespread flight cancellations.
