SHAH ALAM, July 4 — PKR Youth will lodge police reports against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak from tomorrow onwards, the youth wing's deputy chief Dr Afif Bahardin said today.

Afif described the report by Wall Street Journal (WSJ) over the alleged channeling of millions to Najib's purported personal bank accounts as "worrying", stating that Malaysians do not want to see the incidents during the rule of Philippines' President Ferdinand Marcos repeating here.

"We don't want to see Marcos 2.0 happening in Malaysia. This is concerning the country's sovereignty (kedaulatan), integrity of the prime minister, integrity of the whole system of our government," he told reporters here, adding that the police reports by PKR Youth in each state is to press for a "transparent" probe by the authorities.

He also urged non-government organisations and the public to lodge reports with the police and the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Today, Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail confirmed a special team is investigating a controversial claim linking an outflow of US$700 million (RM2.6 billion) from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) into the Najib's personal bank accounts.

The public prosecutor added that the team raided the offices of three companies that had been affiliated with the state investor yesterday, the same day WSJ ran the explosive report.

“I also confirm that on 3 July 2015, this Special Task Force had sent an investigative team to SRC International Sdn Bhd, Gandingan Mentari Sdn Bhd and Ihsan Perdana Sdn Bhd to conduct a raid and had obtained documents from all three premises involved,” he said in a statement, adding that he will advise and provide further direction to the special task force after analysing the documents.

Today, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin called on four key federal agencies to look into the WSJ report's claim, noting that it is of public interest and it is a heavy allegation that affects Najib's credibility as the prime minister.

“As such I am of the view that the investigating authorities like the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, Bank Negara Malaysia, the Royal Malaysian Police with the cooperation of the Attorney-General’s Chambers must immediately to investigate all allegations against Dato' Seri Najib,” Muhyiddin said.
