KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 ― The mental observation court order on a former model charged with committing an obscene act by stripping in public last April has been extended for another month.
The magistrate set August 3 for re-mention but said the case could be brought forward if the report could be completed earlier.
Deputy public prosecutor Noor Svetlana Mohd Noor Nordin and counsel Muhammad Nor Izzat Nordin did not object to the hospital's application.
The accused was not brought to court for today's proceeding but her younger brother was present.
Persana Avril allegedly committed the offence at a chicken rice shop in Jalan Petaling here, on April 23.
The charge under Section 294(a) of the Penal Code, carries a maximum three months' jail or a fine, or both, upon conviction. ― Bernama
