Malay Mail Online understands that rumours of the imminent fuel price hike had been circulating among petrol station operators earlier today, which was then confirmed later in the evening.

The confirmation notice was sighted by Malay Mail Online.

Just six hours ago, Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hasan Malek said no prior notice will be given for new monthly petrol and diesel rates from now on.

In June, Malaysians received advance notice that RON95 petrol and diesel would be priced at RM2.05 a litre in June, up from RM1.95 in May, while the RON97 fuel will cost RM2.35, from RM2.25 in May, from the Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Ministry website.
