Met Dept: Weak earthquake hits Ranau, Sabah

KUALA LUMPUR, June 25 ― A weak earthquake, measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale, occurred in Ranau, Sabah, at 10.08 am today, according to the Meteorological Department.

It said in a statement that the epicentre of the quake was 25 kilometres northwest of Ranau town.

“Tremors were felt in Ranau,” it added.

An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale struck the Ranau and surrounding areas on June 5, claiming 18 lives. ― Bernama
