Police: RM4.2m worth of syabu seized at nursery, three suspects nabbed

NIBONG TEBAL, June 24 — Police detained two suspects and seized Syabu worth RM42 million at a nursery in Bukit Tambun, near here, yesterday.

During the raid at 11.30am, the two suspects, an Indonesian and a Malaysian aged 39 and 52, were loading the drugs into two vehicles.

Seberang Perai Selatan (SPS) police chief Supt Wan Hassan Wan Ahmad said police investigations revealed that the nursery had been used as a transit centre for the distribution of the Syabu.

“Police found 40 packets of Syabu in two bags weighing 42kg and worth RM42 million,” he told reporters, here today.

Wan Hassan said police subsequently raided the house of the Malaysian suspect in Taman Bakap Indah, Sungai Bakap, here at 7pm and detained his Vietnamese wife.

“In the house we found a plastic packet containing Syabu weighing 0.5 grams, 36 ecstacy pills weighing 10.9 gram and three Eramin 5 pills,” he said.

Following the arrest of the three suspects, police also seized RM26,476 cash, a Toyota Harrier (SUV), a Mercedes Benz E240, jewellery and watch.

“Based on investigations, the Indonesian who lived in Bukit Jambul, worked at the nursery where the drugs that were brought in from abroad was stored,” he said.

All three suspects will be remanded until June 29. — Bernama
