The front of the building was splashed with black paint on Saturday and last night, DAP's office manager Lim Huat Poh found the front door splashed with red paint. This is the fourth vandalism incident involving DAP offices over the last two days. On Saturday, Komtar state assemblyman Teh Lai Heng's service centre along Jalan Talipon, which is also the former DAP headquarters, was splashed with black paint. On early Sunday, at about 3am, the shutters of Penang DAP chairman Chow Kon Yeow's service centre at Jalan Kedah was torched but no heavy damage was done. Northeast district police chief ACP Mior Faridalathrash Wahid confirmed receiving the police report on the second incident at the DAP headquarters at about 12.42am today. "We are investigating the incident under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and causing damage to property," he said. According to the police report lodged by Lim, 46, he found the front door splashed with red paint at about 10.50pm last night but did not see the culprits who did it. "The CCTV recording showed two unidentified men, who came to the premises on a motorcycle, had splashed the paint on the front roller shutters of the building," ACP Mior said. The first two incidents where the DAP headquarters and Teh's service centre were splashed with paint are also being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code. The vandalism against Chow's service centre is being investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code for committing mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to cause damage. ACP Mior said his team is still investigating the cases and did not want to comment on whether there are any links between the four incidents.
