GEORGE TOWN, June 18 — The Penang government will pay a half-month bonus or a minimum of RM600 to civil servants in the state on June 25, Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said today.

“The special financial aid provision totalling RM5.2 million will benefit some 4,178 civil servants in the state,” he told a press conference here.

Lim said the state government would also extend an Aidilfitri special assistance of RM300 to administrators and teachers of religious and fardhu ain (Kafa) schools; teachers of primary and secondary public religious schools and teachers and staff of Chinese private schools.

Meanwhile, tahfiz and pondok schoolteachers as well as Islamic kindergarten teachers would receive RM200 each, he said. — Bernama
