KOTA KINABALU, June 11 — The police are in the midst of tracking down another five foreign tourists suspected to have posed naked on top of Mount Kinabalu on May 30.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman said, of the 10 people shown in an image, only five could be identified.
He said the police would try to identify the rest, possibly with assistance from the other five foreigners, adding that they would also collaborate with the immigration department.
Speaking to reporters after the monthly assembly of the state police contingent here today, he said it was difficult to identify the foreign tourists as they had not written their real names and countries of origin in a register for climbers.
Yesterday, four foreigners including two women, were remanded for four days by the Kota Kinabalu Magistrate’s Court to facilitate investigations into the issue involving posing naked.
Two Canadian siblings and a Dutchman surrendered at the Karamunsing police station at 6pm on Tuesday, while a British woman was detained at the Tawau Airport on Tuesday, when she was about to depart for Kuala Lumpur. — Bernama
