WANG KELIAN, June 7 — The skeletal remains of 99 victims of human trafficking syndicates have been found and brought out from the graves found in the jungles here so far.

As at 5.25pm today, 30 skeletons were found in 31 graves and taken out from a gravesite in Bukit Genting Perah via  Felcra Lubuk Sireh .

Perlis Police Chief SAC Shafie Ismail, when contacted, confirmed that the skeletal remains of 30 victims were taken out from the Bukit Genting Perah site, but could not provide further details.

“I was informed that there was heavy rain at about 3.20 pm and it made it (taking the remains out) difficult because the paths along the hills were slippery,” he said.

According to Shafie, no remains were found in one of the 31 graves.

“If there are no obstacles, all the remaining graves will be exhumed tomorrow,” he said, adding that there were still about 20 graves to be dug up.

Yesterday, 20 human skeletons which had been shrouded were found and brought out. They were found in 20 graves by the forensics teams.

Prior to that, 35 human skeletons had been brought out from Bukit Wang Burma near here. — Bernama
