KUALA SELANGOR, June 6 — PAS, who has been vocal in fighting for Islam, received a ‘slap’ when they were reprimanded by the Non-Muslim Supporters Wing (NMSW) at the PAS annual assembly here, today.

NMSW chief A. Balasubramaniam questioned the spread of slander among PAS leaders and members lately adding the non-Muslim members want to see a more harmonious atmosphere via Islamic teachings.

“I am not sure whether in Islam there is a prohibition on slander, labelling and breaking of promise. If they are prohibited in the Quran, why are they being practised in PAS?

“Why are the ulamas not reprimanding those who spread slander and stop this negative thing from happening?”

PAS was urged to settle issues the Islamic way as the non-Muslims would like to see the pure values adopted by PAS members practised and not remain as lip service.

Balasubramaniam wants the new PAS leadership to pay attention to this problem so that they can work better.

“If Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) are more united and organised, they are entitled to win the general election while PAS (if its problems are not settled) will continue to lose the general election despite being in the right,” he added. — Bernama
