KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 — Livescape Group, the organiser behind last year’s Future Music Festival Asia (FMFA), has assured concertgoers that they are working to bring down the cost of bottled water for future events after six heatstroke deaths at last year’s festival.

Concertgoers said security personnel did not allow outside drinks to be brought in, and they were charged RM10 for a 500ml bottle of water, according to a report by The Star's online portal.

Livescape events group director Darren Waide, however, maintained that free water was distributed during the event, and said the high cost for bottled water was due to the accumulated charges from transportation, storage, and hiring staff to man the booths.

“Nevertheless, we assure fans that we are working very closely with our suppliers and partners to find a solution to bring the cost down to ultimately further reduce prices of water at our future events,” Waide said in a statement quoted by The Star.
