KUALA LUMPUR, May 31 — Fuel prices in Malaysia will increase across board by 10 sen at midnight, the government announced today.

The Star Online reported the Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Ministry as announcing on its website that RON95 petrol and diesel will cost RM2.05 a litre starting tomorrow, while RON97 petrol will cost RM2.35 a litre, inclusive of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Minister Datuk Seri Hasan Malek confirmed the price hike with the news website.

Fuel prices had remained unchanged this month, with DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng claiming it was likely because of the by-elections in Permatang Pauh and Rompin.

The last increase in the retail prices for petrol and diesel was implemented in March, when a 25 sen hike led to pump prices of RM1.95 per litre for RON95 petrol and diesel, as well as RM2.25 per litre for RON97 petrol.
