KUALA LUMPUR, May 21 — Minister Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim dismissed today the need for the Dewan Rakyat’s official website to show how every MP had voted for every Bill and motion in the house.

In a written reply to Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng, the minister in charge of parliamentary affairs said it was enough for the MPs to know how their counterparts voted, as detailed in the Votes and Proceedings report.

“This Votes and Proceedings (report) is enough to be distributed only to members of Parliament.

“As for now, there is no need to reveal those votes in the Parliament portal,” the minister in the Prime Minister’s Department said.

In his question, Lim had said that the votes should be disclosed to the public to ensure the accountability of each MP.
