KUALA LUMPUR, May 7 — Police will investigate the report lodged by Lembaga Tabung Haji against a local blog that published documents of a property transaction between the pilgrim funds board and 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Tajuddin Md Isa said the report was lodged by LTH chief executive Datuk Johan Abdullah this evening, according to news portal The Malaysian Insider.

“We have yet to decide under which section we shall investigate the matter,” he was quoted as saying in the report.

Yesterday, an anonymous blog called “The Benchmark” published copies of the agreement to the purported sale of two parcels of 1MDB land in the Tun Razak Exchange to LTH for RM772 million.

Quoting sources with direct knowledge on the matter, Reuters also reported earlier today that 1MDB is set to sell two plots of land from the Tun Razak Exchange project to the pilgrimage fund for about RM700 million.

LTH chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim denied the transaction yesterday, before the board today confirmed that it bought land from 1MDB, but only one parcel for RM188 million, instead of two as claimed.

The Tun Razak Exchange, planned as a 70-acre financial centre within the capital, is one of two high-profile property projects in 1MDB’s portfolio.
