KUALA LUMPUR, April 28 — Police have approved the holding of an anti-Goods and Services Tax (GST) rally on May 1 on the condition that the venue is Padang Merbok here and warned that action will be taken against the planned rally if it is held elsewhere, the Star Online reported today.

City deputy police chief Deputy Commissioner Datuk Law Hong Soon was quoted as saying that police have so far received one notice and the organisers had been advised to hold the rally at Padang Merbok.

Law added that police would ensure that no untoward incidents happen but if organisers refuse to heed the police's advice, it will be considered an offence and action can be taken against them according to the law.
