KUALA LUMPUR, April 7 — The Education Ministry will soon start profiling its employees to ensure a more effective spread of talent among its ranks, Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said today.
Muhyiddin said to deliver on the many goals outlined in the Malaysian Higher Education Blueprint 2015-2025 launched today, the ministry will implement the Strategic Talent Management Framework to be able to place suitable members of the ministry in the right leadership positions.
"This includes strategic Succession Planning that involves profiling, development and placing officers in key leadership positions in the Ministry more objectively," Muhyiddin said at the launching of the blueprint this morning.
He added that these initiatives have already been implemented at the district and state levels, with the latest push to adopt them nationwide.
“These approaches and methods have already begun in the district education department (PPD) and the state education department (JPN), and will be extended to the highest management level of the professional basic and higher education sectors,” he said.
The National Higher Education Blueprint launched today saw a 10-step approach to transforming the higher education system, which includes improving the quality of vocational education, providing more monetary support to students and universities, encouraging research and publication, increasing collaboration with Asean tertiary institutions and increasing the usage of online learning.
