BENTONG, April 6 — Pahang Umno Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob today said he already had a suitable candidate for Rompin parliamentary by-election, which will be called following the death of its incumbent Tan Sri Jamaluddin Jarjis.

“Everything is already in my head and I have the name of a suitable candidate, but it is still too early to discuss about it,” he told reporters here today.

Adnan, who is also Pahang Menteri Besar, said he would meet with Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to discuss the matter after the Election Commission declared the seat’s vacancy.

Jamaluddin, 63, who was also PR1MA Malaysia Corporation chairman, was killed, along with five others, when the AS365N2 Dauphin helicopter they were travelling in to return home after attending the wedding reception of Najib’s daughter Nooryana Najwa in Pekan, Pahang, crashed at 4.45pm on Saturday. — Bernama
